Mathematics and Software Development

My area of work is the borderland between mathematics and software development. In software projects, I am the one for the complicated parts. I can easily familiarize with complex matters and have the mathematical know-how as well as the practical experience in software development to deliver useful results in the form of high quality code.

I am interested in tricky optimization tasks in calculus, combinatorics and programming, especially in the case where these areas intersect.

Areas of Expertise

  • Mathematical solutions on computers
  • Physical simulations
  • Cryptographic algorithms
  • Smart cards

  • Mathematics Diplom (approximately a masters), with emphasis on mathematical logic
  • Physics Vordiplom (not quite a bachelor), with chemistry as a minor subject

both at the Albert Ludwigs Universität Freiburg

Programming Languages

  • Python
  • Pascal/Delphi
  • Java
  • C
  • Assembler (8051 and 68000)
  • Perl5
  • SQL
  • A bit out of date: C++, Visual Basic, Javascript, Bash, Common-Lisp, Smalltalk, Awk, Fortran77

It is no problem for me to learn a new programming language within some days.
